So, you're browsing the web, using FireFox on BeOS or ZETA and you remember someone told you to look over on YouTube, an hilarious video about... something. What to do? You can reboot into Linux or Windows or... you can use the FakeFlash plugin! Following a simple set of instructions you too can watch all the YouPr YouTube videos you want.

All you need is, besides the browser itself, VLC, the FakeFlashPlugin, GreaseMonkey and finally the "Play and Download YouTube for BeOS" script, and you'll start enjoying the famous site from your own alternative OS. Here's the screenshot to prove it. Enjoy.

Absolutely brilliant. Must get the latest Firefox working yet (I tried it without, and I can concur that you do need the latest versions of FF+VLC) but I can't wait to get this working! It's a feature I've long hoped for. Those "grunt, it's on YouTube again" sentiments are all too familiar. (My niece: "Hey Eddy, check this new music video out! Oh no you can't play it, can you.")

With great gratitude and the deepest respect for the man who has made this possible!

I've just downloaded and installed all of the plugins and scripts. It works just fine- now I can waste my time on youtube without having to boot to windows. Thanks, xeD.

I stopped using BeOS awhile ago, partly due to now basic things like Flash and embedded video. This is one way to lure me back. Thank you!

I can't get it to work. My Zeta install of V 1.1 has a problem with vlc generating an error Missing symbol "libintl_snprint f" when I try to launch vlc. Sure wish I could get this working as it is a major goal for me.

Great effort however and I hope to get it working eventually.

Works perfect. How do I edit the script for yourfilehost and other embedded video sites?

On the bottom-right of firefox (statusbar) there is a small monkey face. Right click it to see the scripts in use.
If you add others sites please report :-)

enjoy
